Headwear

The Glengarry is one of the most distinguished pieces of headwear in the scottish dress

We have witnessed the production process in person. How it came from a round pink embroided little frisbee to a sophisticated Glengarry.

Genuine glengarries are made of pure wool with a hemp strengthening that gives it it specific shape. The hemp also causes the glengarry not to be a hot item on your head. The cheaper glengarries have plastic or paper on the inside to give it it's shape. Plastic causes excessive transpiring on the head and paper.. yeah well.. get out there on a rainy day and see what happens. Your glengarry looks like a wet stack of newspapers, all wrinkly.

The dicing on the glengarrie should be knitted and not printed. Again printed makes a suffocating band around your head. You don't want that, because during a long march in a pipeband you will suffer greatly.

Loads of glengarries/tam 'o  shanters and balmorals waiting to be finished.
