This is wat you DON'T want
Unless you specificly choose to do so.

Cheap kilts and Bagpipes are oke, providing you KNOW they are not the real MacCoy. We have about 8 years of trade-experience in distinguish what is quality or not.

Unfortunately many of the people starting with collecting their first kilt-outfit or bagpipes go for the cheaper ones. Not knowing that they buy something that is way below the standard they should expect for that kind of money.

If you buy a kilt for EUR 100,- you don't get a 100% pure wool, 8yard hand made kilt.

If you buy a set of Pipes for EUR 150,- or 200,- or 300,- or 400,- you don't get a handmade, blackwood, competition-ready set of pipes.

This goes for all Scottish things.

If you however want a cheap kilt for going to a match or party. That's oke, but be sure that they are NOT made of nylon or as our Pakistani friends like to call it: Acryllic wool. Standing next to a candle or other open fire will guaranteed burn a permanent imprint of your kilt in your legs. You don't want that.

If you buy a cheap set of pipes for hanging on the wall, the rose-wood and other tree's are perfectly fine. But don't take them apart. I once had to change a bag on a cheap set. The menure and hairs of the previous owner of the skin was still present. Apart from having a poor sound quality they are far from hygienic.

At the end of the day it is your own choice what you want. But be sure that what you pay for it has the value you expect from it.

There will be more information about this subject in due time so you can better make choices and distinguish between good and poor quality products.
